MINI Meet North Was a Success!
MINI Meet North, from June 19-21 at Mosport was a success!
On the Saturday of MINI Meet North, MINI Durham hosted a BBQ and show'n'shine. Unfortunately the rain created a change of plans, but we turned it into a competition for most unique and eye-catching MINI. Prizes were awarded to the proud owners and despite the wet weather, everyone had a great time. The MINI Challenge Targa Newfoundland race car was on display in the MINI Durham showroom. It created quite a stir and many were excited to be up-close and personal with such an exclusive car.
On Sunday, MINIs and Minis, old and new, joined together at Mosport for a Parade Lap around the legendary track. It was an amazing experience to drive amongst the Classic Minis with so much history. Afterwards, there was a photoshoot on the hill with all the MINIs and Minis present. The weather warmed up enough to give some of us sunburns and it turned into a great afternoon of MINIs, racing, and the great people who surround both of those things!
Photos that I took from the event are posted on Flickr.
Or, you can view the photos in a slideshow here: http://bighugelabs.com/slideshow.php?id=66154. Please note that the photos are copyright and aren't to be distributed without permission!! Thanks for your understanding!
Another write-up about the event on Confessions of a MINIac can be found here.
Happy Motoring and stay tuned for information about the July East Enders MINI Motoring Club meet (Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 7-9pm... however, there is a cruise in the works for the evening, so please make sure you read the updates when they are available!)

March East Enders Meet!
Hey EastEnders!
The March meet was yet another success!! I didn't take as many pictures as I did videos, so I'll get that video edited and online so you can share in the excitement!
We unveiled the East Enders MINI... A HOT combo of JCW accessories, flat black vinyl, ghost stripes in gloss black, and a turbocharged Cooper S powerhouse under the bonnet! The reactions, as you can predict, were all positive! Everyone wanted to take that car home with them!
We also introduced two events that have been running at the dealership:

We also introduced two events that have been running at the dealership:
- Stuff-A-Clubbie: where we are stuffing a Clubman full of toys and delivering them to Sick Kids Hospital for Easter!
- Hope Blooms for Breast Cancer pink MINI: a customer of MINI Durham is one of the top fundraisers in the area for the Walk to End BreastCancer and the dealership is showing their support by promoting this vinyl-wrapped pink Cooper.
All this and more, the night was a success as always.
There were also many cards handed out for the Southern Ontario MINI Club as soon as Maple in the County was mentioned. Click here for details about that trip on my blog!
I'll get that video edited then we'll see you on the third Thursday of April, ok?
Happy Motoring from Christina and the crew at MINI Durham!

Support Brett Penfold's Ride to Conquer Cancer with MINI Durham and East Enders!

After the son (Terry) of our favourite porter, Bob, passed away from cancer last year, MINI/BMW Durham decided to raise money in his honour. Bob's other son, Brett, is riding Terry's bike in hopes of finding a cure.
Nancy, a former MINI sales advisor who has moved up to the BMW sales side, came up with the idea of a 50/50 draw to raise money. We are opening up the draw to East Enders club members. So the tickets will be available at the EEMMC meet and the draw will be at the end of the evening. Incase you don't know what a 50/50 draw is, basically the funds raised are pooled together and divided in half... and the winner takes half and the other half is donated to Brett Penfold's Ride to Conquer Cancer fund. It's a win-win situation!!!
GOOD LUCK!! :)
